Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA), through the Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), affiliated to the Academic Research Sector, and The World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries’ Arab Regional Partner (TWAS–AREP), are organizing “Pathways to Green Transition in the Arab Region” Hybrid workshop that will be held from 23–24 September 2025. The workshop will be held under the framework of the Young Scientists Training Program, which aims to build the capacities of the Arab young scientists, and provide them with the needed skills to advance their career and achieve their professional goals.
The workshop will bring together young scientists from the Arab countries together with high caliber scientists, academics and professionals, to exchange knowledge, expertise and discuss green transition strategies and its significance to the Arab region. The workshop will include interactive sessions covering wide range of topics including: environment protection, biodiversity conservation and preservation, the role of space and planetary sciences in understanding and facilitating the green transition, adaptation to climate change and related topics to human health. It will also discuss the latest developments in the field of renewable and green technologies and their contribution in achieving a sustainable future. The workshop aims to exchange knowledge and provide insights about green transition for sustainable future in the Arab region, and encourage networking among Arab scientists.

Eligibility Criteria:
The age of applicants must not exceed 40 years.
Master/PhD students and PhD holders in life and natural sciences fields, living/working in one of the developing countries- excluding refugee or displaced scientists.
Women scientists and Refugees and/or displaced scientists living in any country are highly encouraged to apply
